Horse Reliefs older 2007-15

This gallery shows the best of my earlier horse reliefs in various mediums. This is where I started not knowing much about horses, or horse anatomy. I started drawing and sculpting from ancient Greek sculptures, and on it went. It was a confusing journey because I was looking at local farm horses and many reference images. Also the myriad of different horse breeds added to the challenge- I couldn't tell a Warmblood from a Morgan- this took time. The results shown here are what I now call “Archaic” but one has to start somewhere, and they still possess a primal energy that I like.
